The wonderful technique of double knitting creates a two-layer fabric with knit stitches on both sides. The finished fabric is completely reversible, which makes it perfect for colorwork, contrasting fibers, or simply a double knit-faced fabric that is super warm! A buff is a versatile accessory that can be worn as a headband, cowl, or ear-warmer. This pattern comes in two sizes (s/m, m/l) The s/m is good for an adult woman’s head and the m/l for an adult male. The yarn will stretch over time so opt for the smaller size if you think you are between sizes.

Yarn: 2 different colored skeins of Manos del Uruguay Maxima, 100% merino wool, worsted weight, 218 yards (colors used in our sample 2020-Spirulina & 2290-Dark Chocolate)
Needles: US 7 (16" circular)
Notions: tapestry needle, 1 stitch marker
Gauge: 10 sts and 12 rows = 2.5 in or 4 sts per inch (double knitting)
Finished Measurements: 4.5" (5") deep x 10.5" (11.5") wide laid flat after blocking
